What is BirdNET?

BirdNET is a research platform that uses artificial intelligence to identify bird species by their sounds. Developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Chemnitz University of Technology, it can recognize over 6,000 bird species worldwide.

Our BirdNET-Pi installation continuously monitors audio from the Wasatch Front in Utah, identifying birds in real-time and building a comprehensive database of local bird activity.
